NiyamIT seeks an energetic, highly motivated, and detail-oriented self-starter to join our D.C. Metro Area Office as a Hazus Outreach and Help Desk Lead

As the Hazus SME:

-Will Lead author/owner for all deliverable documentation, including but not limited to: release plans, test plans, requirements, test results reports, internal release notes, user release notes, etc.
-Lead author/owner for all non-deliverable documentation deemed critical by development team or FEMA, including but not limited to: design documents, use cases, test cases, instructions/training supplements or step-by-step guides for new functionality, CR/DR lists, new Help Desk FAQ, newsletter or flyer content for Outreach materials, etc. 
-Oversee all CR/DRs and documentation in Hazus Source Code Control System; create queries as needed, open/assign new work items, update work item status during development cycle, close work items as needed, write detailed descriptions or upload supporting materials when needed, link CR/DRs to Help Desk tickets numbers where appropriate
-Manage regular status calls with FEMA (weekly CDS, bi-weekly PMO, daily IV&V), either leading the call or providing slides
 

As an Outreach Lead:

-Manage all FEMA Hazus-related web content, including but not limited to: content on all Hazus fema.gov web pages, Hazus MSC Download page, access and some content on the Hazus Sharepoint site (coordinate with Hazus PMO for Sharepoint) 
-Publish Hazus Quarterly newsletter; solicit/manage/edit content, guide documents through FEMA EA, publish to fema.gov and distribute to user community
-Manage certain aspects of Hazus social media

-Lead Hazus National User Call (monthly) and Program Priority Forum (quarterly); manage calendar invitations/call recordings/Adobe Connect session/slides, facilitate discussion
-Act as Admin for Hazus Outreach inbox/email address and GovDelivery - Hazus email subscription service
-Provide conference support as requested by FEMA, including but not limited to: planning and execution of the Hazus Conference, attendance at/taking Hazus Booth to other conferences as directed by FEMA, preparation of all flyers/giveaways


As a Help Desk Lead:
-Responsible for answering all tickets above Tier 1, topics including but not limited to: errors and technical issues across all modules, advanced installation issues, methodology questions for all four hazards, all data/CDMS questions, international requests, and tracking user-reported bugs/enhancements
-Train and manage any/all Tier 1 support staff to independently handle the following: software and data download questions, basic installation issues, compatibility/version questions, and documentation requests
-Manage any/all Tier 3+ support SMEs; coordinate responses, HPR transfers, screen shares as needed
-Act as Admin for the ManageEngine Hazus Help Desk web site and email address, including managing permissions and access
-Produce weekly or monthly reports as requested by FEMA leadership on requested topics such as ticket volume, resolution times, ticket topics, user affiliation
-Work with FEMA to determine SLAs as needed
-Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times to include timely and courteous response, including coordination with FEMA on out-of-scope requests
 

Education and Experience:

FEMA flood insurance or flood risk map products knowledge required. Hazus experience required. Experience in managing GIS staff and workload a plus.

Learn more about our internship program that nurtures and trains the next generation of IT leaders. 

NiyamIT Intern Program provides an opportunity to gain first-hand experience and receive valuable on-the-job training.

We foster growth and learning with entry-level positions for talented people new to the IT industry with our internship program. Our internship positions cover all of our core markets and competencies, from application development, quality assurance, business analysis, and IT project management to infrastructure support including network configuration and management, virtual infrastructure, storage management and more.
